You Are Better!

You Are Better!

Life has a way of leaving us bumped, bruised, and beat-up.  Even when we are living in a season of abundant blessing, there are moments when we are thinking, “Ouch, that hurt!”  Too many of those experiences and we begin to feel a bit smaller than before.

Pain has a way of diminishing us.  Pain can diminish our energy, our hope, and our confidence.  Pain can also diminish our trust in people, our faith in God, and our confidence in self.  The flip side is that God wants you to be as big as God’s dream for you.

In Isaiah 62:3 we hear God’s promise; “The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see…”  The first part of the promise is that God holds you close.  When you feel things are slipping away, God holds you tight.  When you feel you can’t keep going on like you are today, God holds you close.  The Lord holds you in his hand!

The second part of the promise is that God wants other people to see His goodness making a difference in your life.

When God gives you strength or courageous or hope, it is meant to help you and to show those around you the goodness and greatness of God.

When God shares a blessing or a healing or an answered prayer with you, it is meant as a gift for you and to show those near you the power and provision of God.  “The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see…”

You are better!

You are better than you feel.  You are better than your last failure.  You are better than your current financial struggle.  You are better than your broken relationship.

You are better!

You are better than what other’s think.  You are better than their betrayal.  You are better than their insults.  You are better than their abuse.

You are better!

You are better because God is holding you.  And God is holding you so everyone can see how good and generous and gracious God is to you.

Knowing who you are in Christ makes a difference in how you live your life today.  You are better because God holds you close as His hand.

When we know we are held close in God’s hand, something is released from our heart.  In Psalm 40:3 we hear; “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.”

God puts a new song in my heart.  It is a song of praise, a song of worship, a song of gratitude.  It is a song that announces the delight I experience in my heart.  My heart is filled with delight and my mouth is filled with praise because I am held in God’s hand.

I am better!

Take Delight In The Lord!
