A Miracle For You!

A Miracle For You!

I have been to the point where I was convinced there was no miracle for me and doubted Jesus was even real.  It was a pretty desperate time.

Sometimes I prayed and sometimes I did not.  Sometimes I read the Bible and sometimes I did not.  Sometimes I looked to Jesus and sometimes I did not.  It was a time of crisis in my relationship with Jesus.

I have learned something during seasons when miracles seem impossible and God seems distant.  I have learned that the Lord is faithful even when I am struggling to believe.

The prayer of King David speaks to me when I am doubting miracles and skeptical about God.  In Psalm 69:13-14 we hear;

“But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Lord.  At an acceptable time, O God, in the abundance of your steadfast love, answer me.  With your faithful help rescue me from sinking in the mire; let me be delivered from my enemies and from the deep waters.”

When I am not sure there will be any miracle for me or doubt Jesus can even help, David reminds me of two things.

First, Jesus still loves me.

This is the message of Christmas and the message of the cross.  Jesus lives and dies to show me the depth of His love for me.

Second, Jesus is faithful and will help me.

This is the message of Easter and the work of the Holy Spirit.  Jesus has won the victory over any kind of sin and death.  Jesus also sends the Holy Spirit to give us strength and courage.

There are two things that cause you to doubt God’s miracle for you and Jesus’ love for you.  Exhaustion and uncertainty create doubt and stress…even for the most faithful among us.

As you continue to recover from all the celebrations of Christmas and New Year’s, commit to getting rest for your body, quiet time for your soul, and friend time for your heart.  These things will fill the exhausted places in your life.

For your uncertainty, commit to being in worship, spending time in prayer, and reading some of the Psalms or the Gospel of John.  As we seek Jesus more often, our uncertainty diminishes.

Because Jesus loves you, the miracle will come.  Because Jesus is faithful, the help will come.  Just remember these good gifts from God will come, as David says, “at an acceptable time.”

My prayer for you is you will experience a growing trust in Jesus.  The Lord loves you and is faithful to help you.  Rescue and deliverance and freedom are coming for you.

When the goodness and provision of God come, your heart will be filled with delight in the Lord.  When the answers and the miracles of God come, your heart will be filled with delight in the Lord.

Delight In The Lord!

Doug
