You Are A Child Of God!
Even in the times when I am most confident and courageous, doubt can creep into my heart and mind. It happens most often when I get still. So, I keep moving, keep active, and keep avoiding the stillness.
Sometimes I struggle with knowing I am a precious and loved child of God. It’s not a faith crisis or anything like that. There are just times when I am not as confident that in God’s eyes I am precious and welcome and loved.
The Bible confronts my doubt straight on. In I John 3:2 we are reminded; “Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed.”
I may not yet be all that the Lord God wants me to be, but I am still a child of God. I may not yet have arrived in my career, but I am still a child of God. I may not yet be all that my family wants me to be, but I am still a child of God.
I am precious! I am welcome! I am loved!
And, so are you! The Creator has made you to be light in a world filled with too much darkness and too much despair and too much discouragement. People will be encouraged and inspired and empowered by your confidence that you are a child of God.
People you know and don’t know notice when someone carries the confidence that they are a child of God. They will watch as your struggle gets weaker and your faith and hope and love get stronger.
In I Corinthians 13:13 the Apostle Paul reminds us; “And now faith, hope, and love remain, these three, and the greatest of these is love.” Children of God live in faith, with hope, and are filled with love. These are the three most important things in life.
These three gifts of God in you is what makes children of God different. With faith, hope, and love you are empowered to do something to make a difference for Jesus. People will notice and get curious about Jesus. They will ask you questions.
When you wonder if you are good enough, strong enough, or smart enough draw near to the heart of Jesus. Our Savior will remind you that you are a precious and loved child of God. Jesus loves you and believes in you.
The evidence is strong; God gave His only son, Jesus. Jesus endured great suffering and died to show you the depth of His love for you. In God’s eyes…
You are precious! You are welcome! You are loved! You are worth dying for!
When we let this simple truth engage our mind, embrace our heart, and fill our soul, we will live with deeper faith, renewed hope, and a generous love. Our life will be abundant. Our heart will overflow with delight in the Lord.
You are a child of God. Be generous! Be bold! Be a child of God!
Take Delight In The Lord!
